This course is a great beginning. Most notably, for me, because Suzanne Clothier acknowledges the handler's motivation, and our good intentions, that lead to mixed signals or worse. I am a leash feeder. Because I feel my responsibility to my dog's need to smell things, and explore new places. He is my first solo dog -- I've always had multiple dogs. I feel guilty that he doesn't have more dog-orientedactivity than he does. Today, I concentrated on my breathing, during our walk. Really concentrated, as if I were in a yoga class. Huge difference. Stevie Ray dog was relaxed and happy. Same, at home. His post-walk hyperactivity dissolved into napping, just because I practiced breathing.

I love knots in the lead and have found these so useful. Having a new young rescue dog, it was a great reminder!
