Are you taking care of your most important tool?

So often, we do not extend to ourselves the same patience, grace, kindness and protection that we offer each dog in our care. Imagine what might happen if you were to BE THE DOG in your care. What might you do differently to support and protect?

Many trainers are at heart caretakers. Because we care deeply about the dogs who come through our hands, we invest ourselves in trying to help dogs and their people. When it goes well, it is deeply satisfying to know that the skills we developed were helpful, and sometimes even life-changing.

But there are other times when our investment in a dog, in a client, in a case does not go well. It is deeply upsetting. We may dig in deeper, try harder, and still find ourselves unsure what went wrong or how to fix it. We may blame ourselves. Or the client. Or the dog. Or other trainers, methodology, equipment, diet, and more.

Do this often enough and we can loseheart, or worse head down the road to burnout, even though working with dogs isour passion and our dream.

Do you know what the greatest dog training tool is? YOU.Your heart, your emotions, your knowledge, your passion, your skills.

Retired social worker and experienced dog man Joe Steinfeld teams up with Suzanne Clothier for another powerful webinar that can help you find ways to protect against burnout while also helping you become more effective as a trainer.

Some of what we will cover:

·     Emotional regulation isn’t just for dogs!

·     Boundary or danger zone?

·     Awareness – listening to yourself

·     What are you feeling and why?

·     Recognizing “unsafe”

·     Grace and celebration

·     Ways to self-regulate

A passion for helping animals and others is powerful and much needed in the world. Join us for practical information and much food for thought.

Suzanne and Joe’s combined decades of experience and hard-won wisdom can help you continue to be a force for the good.

While Suzanne often urges us all to SEE THE DOG, this time, she and Joe will help you step into BE THE DOG.
